The Lavender Line
As stated on both the website and Facebook page in April the Lavender Line’s annual Diesel Gala has been put back from 5th and 6th July to the new dates of Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th August. There were several reasons for this change of date but the main one being loco availability, Andrew Barclay is on the verge of returning to traffic and of course our Flagship Thumper 1133 is on the home run following her final coats of paints of which she has received over the past few months. With both these locos not ready until August we took the decision to move the Diesel Gala so everyone can enjoy both of these unique and beautiful looking locos together.
This coming Sunday 5th July will be a steam service which will be hauled by 0-6-0ST Kitson Austin 1, she will be pulling both the 108 coach and the Royal Saloon from platform 2 with the first train departing 11.00 from Isfield and the last train departing Isfield at 4.30. Trains will be departing on the hour and half hour with Cinder Buffet on Platform 1 opening from 8.30 for breakfasts.
This years Diesel Gala is looking set to be one of the best yet, with up to 4 diesels in action including Thumper unit 1133 and newly out shopped Andrew Barclay in service this is looking to be a cracking weekend!
More information about the Diesel Gala on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th August will be available on both the website latest news and Loco Facebook page in the next month as we count down the weeks. Expect an intensive timetable, brake van rides, parallel running, Riley’s miniature railway with diesels and of course plenty of blue smoke!
Remember the new dates, Lavender Line Diesel Gala Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th August.
