The Lavender Line
We are very pleased to announce the railway's latest addition 0-6-0ST Bagnall 'Empress' will be enjoying her first public steaming on Sunday 26th April as she takes charge of the first steam day of the year.
'Empress' ran without fault on Saturday during one of Clive Groom's famous footplate courses, she proved to be efficient, spacious and more than powerful for the job intended. She will be used on every Clive Groom occasion at the Lavender Line during her stay and of course all our steam dates for 2015. The railway's other privately owned steam engine, Belgium 0-4-0VBT Cockerill 'Yvonne' is currently under overhaul and making good progress. The boiler is still away being refurbished and the loco's chassis is receiving some TLC at Isfield.
Book the date is your diary, Sunday 26th April and come enjoy the sights and sounds of 'Empress' as she hauls the days services.
Normal prices apply with a standard timetable from platform 2 in operation.
'Empress' will also be in steam on Bank holiday Monday 4th May, Bank holiday Monday 25th May and Sunday 31st May
