The Lavender Line
It is now less than 2 months to go until the Lavender Line’s Annual October Gala weekend which is taking place on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th October. This year’s event is set to be bigger than ever with more visiting steam engines and some very intensive timetables.
This year will see some slight changes in regards to finding the visiting vintage vehicles. All visiting steam engines and commercial vehicles will be based in the railway’s hard standing car park with all classic cars/ motorcycles being positioned in the adjoining field behind the Laughing Fish pub. The reason for this is we are expecting a large number of visiting steam engines which need a good water supply and good hard standing ground, this will also allow the classic cars to spread themselves out in the field with more room between each vehicle.
We already have 12 confirmed full sized steam engines and 2 miniatures set to join us over the Gala weekend, plus dozens of classic cars/motorcycles and a selection of commercial vehicles.
Here are a few highlights for the October Gala weekend:
• Intensive timetables for both days
• Steam, Diesel and DEMU train rides
• Visiting vintage vehicles which includes, traction engines, steam rollers, classic cars, commercial vehicles and classic motorcycles
• Parallel departures
• Real ale tent *New for 2015
• Full site access including woodland walks through Worth woods
