Full Details Of Two May Bank Holiday Weekends Announced Plus The Return Of Wickham Railbus

We have two fantastic bank holiday weekends lined up for you in May kicking off with the Mayday weekend of Sunday 1st and Monday 2nd and finishing with Sunday 29th and Monday 30th May.

New For 2016, Top And Tail Day!!

On Monday 2nd May the Lavender Line will be hosting its first top and tail day of 2016 with steam and Diesel at either end of the train. This will give a unique train formation as well as ensuring both loco’s work hard on the gradients back to Isfield. (See details below)

Return To Service Of Wickham Railbus

We are delighted to announce that on Sunday 1st May that the railway’s privately owned Wickham railbus is set to return to traffic in time for the first bank holiday weekend after an 18 month overhaul program. Although the railbus is booked for Sunday 1st May it is still subject to completion by the owner, if however it’s not ready by May a substitute loco in the form of 0-4-0DM Andrew Barclay No 221 will take it’s place.

Following on from our extremely popular Easter weekend last month we will be continuing the intensive two train timetable with the two May bank holiday weekends which will see a mixture of steam, Diesel and DEMU action over the course of the weekends.

These bumper bank holiday weekends are just the tickets for both enthusiasts and families. You can enjoy a two and a half mile round trip through the Sussex countryside behind both steam and Diesel with alternating departures from both platforms 1 and 2. All services alight at Worth halt where you can also have the opportunity to explore Worth woods and along the line side where you will find great photographic opportunities with rural wildlife amongst the open weald.

Below you will find the details of the two weekends including timetables and prices.
