The Lavender Line
Our last goods train day of the year for this coming Sunday the 28th October is set to go ahead as our goods set has received a much needed overhaul a safety check which has been carried out by our carriage and wagon team.
This coming Sunday will see Austin 1 take charge of our newly restored goods set with the addition of our newly refurbished tanker which is now vacuum brake fitted. Austin 1 will be on the south end of the train with the toad brake on the far end; this will allow you to enjoy the beautiful changing colours of the autumnal Sussex countryside whilst in the warmth and comfort the toad brake van. This weekend is looking to be a beautiful one weather wise but chilly; the brake van will have its well known stove fire lit ready to greet you as you climb on board.
Why not take advantage of the cold but good weather set for the weekend coming and enjoy a steam train ride behind our resident 80 year old steam engine, enjoy a full English breakfast in Cinders buffet then walk it off down Worth woods after alight at Worth halt.
