The Lavender Line
As we work our way towards the end of winter there’s still plenty of time to enjoy the Lavender line during the depths of winter. With the cold crisp days still lingering why not take a trip to the Lavender line and enjoy a few hours at one of East Sussex’s best kept secrets. We are open every Sunday of the year which includes the winter dates where many railways close for winter maintenance and with our ‘all day English breakfast’ available throughout the year why not enjoy one of these treats, settle down next to our warm open fire in the buffet then venture out onboard one of our trains for a trip to Worth woods at Worth halt.
We are also hosting our half term specials during February which will be on Wednesday 20th and Thursday 21st February, this will be a diesel hauled service with trains running from 11.00 till 4.15, on these off peak dates there is no timetable due to running when necessary but the last train departs Worth halt at 4.15 if you do alight at Worth halt. Prices for adults are standard but kid’s tickets are available for just £1.00! Why not take advantage of this offer and enjoy a cheap and cheerful half term day out, with the ticket you are entitled to unlimited train rides all day, full site access including our Victorian signal box and of course free walks from Worth halt.
There’s lots of exciting events coming up in 2013 including our Easter Bunny hunt specials over the Easter weekend (diesel on good Friday, steam on Easter Sunday and Monday, no service on Easter Saturday), bank holiday specials which are steam hauled, our new diesel gala in July and of course the highlight of the year our steam and vintage transport gala on Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th October which includes visiting Port of Par twins Alfred and Judy who will be teaming up with Austin 1 to provide a 3 train service!
