The Lavender Line
We are very pleased to reveal the Lavender lines 2013 Diesel gala poster which will outline the highlights and plans for the gala weekend. The Diesel gala will be held over the weekend of 6th and 7th July with and intensive gala expected for both days.
With the success of last years first diesel gala for more than 10 years the Lavender line has decided to replicate 2012’s successful diesel gala with an event that is set to involve both enthusiasts and families. There will be the opportunity to travel behind all of our working diesels which will include goods trains and passenger trains. Our resident thumper unit 1133 will once again be taking centre stage in the gala with visitors able to enjoy the unique and popular sound of the DEMU as she works the passenger services. Supporting 1133 will be our very own 0-6-0DH ‘Valiant’, 0-4-0DM Andrew Barclay, Railbus and our retired shunter 0-4-0DM Planet.
This is set to be a stunning weekend with plenty to see and do over the two days from travelling behind one of our heritage diesels to taking a leisurely stroll through Worth woods after alighting at Worth halt. Expect and intensive timetable with lots of movements and great photographic opportunities up and down the line from the line side to shunting movements at Isfield.
