Steam And Thumper This Coming Bank Holiday Monday

This coming bank holiday weekend we are offering another chance to enjoy both steam and thumper together on Monday 27th May.

Over the weekend of Sunday 26th and Monday 27th we are running steam but with the addition of our thumper unit on the Bank holiday Monday. We ran 1133 alongside Austin 1 over the first bank holiday Monday of May and yet again proved to be a very popular addition to both steam and diesel fans.

1133 will be operating from platform 1 on the Monday with Austin 1 working trains from platform 2. First train is set to depart Isfield at 10.30 and Worth halt at 10.45 with trains running on the hour and half hour. Last train departs Isfield at 4.30 and Worth halt at 4.45.

Why not take advantage of the settled weather predicted this weekend with a trip to the Lavender line, choose your mode of transport to Worth halt and enjoy a picnic amongst the countryside. Travel back to Isfield and soak up the atmosphere of the thumper unit which once travelled along the line during the railways heyday.

Steam will also be in service on Sunday 26th May with Austin 1 taking charge of the day’s service. Also available for both Sunday and Bank holiday Monday are the very popular footplate tasters which will be available from just £5.00 per person; this will allow you for one full round trip of the line on the footplate of the steam engine with the driver and fireman. Just ask the driver or fireman on the day for more information.

Cinders buffet opens at 8.30 for breakfasts both days
