The Lavender Line
Plans are now well under way for what’s running at the gala weekend and the collection of vintage vehicles are set to make their way to Isfield in the days leading up to the gala. The visiting Bagnall Port of Par twins Alfred and Judy are due to arrive at the railway a few days before the gala in order for them to be checked over and agreed they are fit to run after their journey.
The plans for the running timetable are set to be completed but we do know that Austin 1 will be in charge of the passenger services with the Port of Par twins taking control of a freight train with both top and tailing and double heading. The final timetable and event details will be published closer to the gala weekend.
There’s a great line up of visiting vintage vehicles set to star at the Steam and transport gala ranging from traction engines to classic cars. Riley’s miniature railway will be operating both days on platform 2 with a mixture of trains running.
This is looking to be a fantastic weekend with a superb line of steam engines on an intensive timetable along with visiting vintage vehicles guaranteed to give you great day out in the Sussex countryside for all ages from the dedicated steam enthusiasts to the families this is set to be one weekend not to miss!
